Let's Talk Transition Curriculum
Despite decades of work with FYE programs, the challenges facing students and institutions are more acute now than ever. That's why our transition materials are different.

Most transition curriculum does a good job orienting students to the institution, but it doesn't always set the students up for academic success.

College You is based on almost two decades of FYE experience. Unlike most transition programs, College You integrates (1) transition curriculum, (2) academic readiness curriculum, and (3) vocational guidance that explains how students can use the liberal arts framework to develop leadership skills that can take them much further in college and in life.

Students learn from College You how to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically, in a way that will set them up for long-term career success, and also develop a feeling of purpose and mission that leads to much greater retention.

And College You does it in a way that students love: short, easy-to-read chapters with cartoon dialogue that challenges the text in fun, interactive way that brings the book to life, more like a discussion than a lecture.

And College You is great for high school students, too. Exposing younger students to the idea of college in an engaging, reassuring way can help them think and plan ahead. Plus, knowing what college both offers and requires can encourage young scholars to develop habits early that will help them not only transition to the right institution but to thrive when they get there.
